Final Update: Okay, so there is less than 24 hrs left in the contest. I'm going to allow anyone who is further past Eastern Time to submit by the end of the 28th and anyone before Eastern Time to submit before the 28th in their timezones. Technically there will be a bit of an extension because I'll judge whatever's presented to my by the time I wake up on the 29th. Also, if you have submited an entry or plan to, I'd really appreciate it if you'd note me about sending a .psd or .sai (or whatever type of file type you work with). So, I've been alluding to this for a while now. I thought it would work well considering Halloween isn't that far away.  The deadline will be set for October 28th to leave room for Halloween. If you don't know, I have a handful of OCs, but really one main one at the moment. It's really one at the moment (believe me I intend to no longer let that be the case) because he's the only one I feel has a good design. I am of course referring to my ghost OC who currently remains nameless…

This contest will actually be split in to two. Why two you ask? Well on the slight chance that no one is able to win the naming part of the contest (believe me this can happen), at least there will be one winner of some sorts.

The first part of the contest is of course the main part, the naming contest! Your challenge is to find a proper name to suit my OC. I've tried thinking of it for a long time now, but I just can't find a name to suit him. I would also like at least 15 participants in this category to really count as a contest. Here are some guidelines (but don't let them limit you) to name him: Consider a bit of his back-story…. Consider his design elements…. Would he have a North American, Japanese, Chinese, English, European sounding name?... Would his name be a name you've invented and never hear of before?...


RULES TO CONTEST PART 1:

- You must be a watcher of me

-You can offer up as many names as you like, the more the better you have a chance at winning

-It's optional, but you may give a reason why you believe the name fits the character

- It is possible to win if you actually inspire me to think of a name that you didn't post, but the post served as some form of inspiration

-Post the names in this journal. Make sure to offer all names in one post (I would prefer there not to be multiple posts for individual names). The key is to be prepared with the names you like when you post a reply


The second part of the contest is a fanart part of the contest! Creatively, I hope this will be where people shine! First of all though, I would like to have at least 7 entries in this category for it to count as a contest. This is basically where you make fanart of my OC. To really impress and heighten your chances of winning, I'm looking for quality in these pieces. I'm not saying you have to be the world's greatest artist or anything, but there must be clear effort shown (As in effort that resembles as if it took hours).


RULES TO CONTEST PART 2:


- A Halloween theme pic would be cool, but is not necessary, it's up to you

- You must be a watcher of me

- You are allowed multiple entries and can be part of both contests

- You must give credit to me and mention the contest in the artist's description

-The names you choose for the OC are to be included in your artist comments when you submit your deviation (NOT IN MY JOURNAL) if you decide to partake in both contests

-It must be your own work. No tracing or bases. Referencing a pose is fine though.

-It must be a fully coloured piece of work. No sketches or monochrome pieces.

-You must link to the contest journal in your artist comments

-You are free to draw my OC in your, mine or another artist's style.

-At the very least, place a solid coloured background in the pic (although this won't help when it comes to judging). Be as creative as you can when it comes to a background. It's not necessary for it to be the most detailed, but be creative. Of course more detailed backgrounds have a higher chance at being selected as winners.

-You are free to include another character if you wish, although it's not necessary

-Post your deviation link in the contest journal

- I also encourage to submit your entries to groups to promote both you and the contest
