Destron23's Style Meme

Well this is my own little take on the style meme. It was more about trying out some different styles than following the original meme accurately. So for this I used my own style, Luigi's Mansion style, surreal style, Naruto style, Dragonball Z style and ichan's style. I had wanted to do a couple other styles, which I may still do, but I wanted to get this out to you guys. Primarily I wanted to try shoujo style and Baten Kaitos style.

Anyways, I'm just going to leave a little commentary on each box (sort of "In-Universe" situations), if you decide to stop reading here that's fine. XD If you wish to proceed that's great too. Lastly, I still have some art stuff to do related to and , I'm sorry I've been so slooooww guys, I'll try to speed up. Thankfully I'll have some time to do stuff now that I'm done practicing and studying for my G2.

Okay, so here we go:

My style: So for each of these styles, I wanted to not only represent Vincent in a certain style, but I wanted to give a bit of a different expression to each as well. If you guys have been around for a while, as many of you are, this one might look familiar to you. I was kind of lazy and took one of my sketches on the reference page for Vincent and made a full colour pic of it. I figured this takes place not too long after Vincent died. This is when he first encounters the group and starts to learn ghost stuff. What is so upsetting? Who knows? Interpretation is required. XD

Luigi's Mansion style: This was really fun to do. I was a big fan of the original game (not to mention its fun sequel where I got to play loads of online matches with Das Ratsel and ichan) and its style. Actually, as much as I love the new game, I wish it had been a bit more faithful to the source material, but oh well. XD The interesting ghosts in the game were the portrait ghosts and depending on how well you fought them, you'd get a painting of them based on your ranking. All the paintings were basically PS filters, which I spammed the heck out of for this. XD I figured Vincent could be one of the portrait ghosts that could reside in the backyard area of area 3. The reason he has no clothes (unlike the other ghosts) is because he spends his time swimming in the fountain. XD

Surreal: So I figured I would do something very dark for this one. In the end it's a little random, a little messy and a little Nightmare-Before-Christmas-ish, but really for this, I just wanted something creepy. XD

Naruto style: I'm not too sure how well I could pull off the Naruto style, but I'm told by a couple people I showed this to that it does indeed look like he was in the Naruto universe. I had a lot of fun making this one and it was the first pic I did for this meme. I wanted the background to look like it was part of Naruto as well, although I rushed the background. XD I thought that perhaps he could be a hidden leaf ninja who had a kekkei genkai that allows him to use the "ghost jutst" which allows him to go through walls. It's quite useful for infiltration and reconnaissance I'd imagine.

DBZ style: This one was easy to do, considering DBZ already has a ghost design (which was actually a pretty cool attack used by Gotenks). Basically it was the kamizkaze ghost with Vincent features. Tried to make the rushed background DBZ-ish as well. I thought perhaps Vincent in this world is a Sayian and has this as one of his attacks. XD

style: Originally I was going to do Mazjojo style, but then I thought it would be a real nice homage to my friend if I did it in his style. It helped that ichan has sketched Vincent before, so I had an idea of what he should look like. XD According to ichan, I get his seal of approval for drawing Vincent in his style, which makes me very happy. Who knows, since ichan is the artist for Elders Floating Temple. perhaps this is an Elders version of Vincent. lol
